Rules & Etiquette

Members must sign their member number for any charges at the Club. The only exception is the Pro Shop where they accept cash, check or card, including Visa, MasterCard, Discover and AMEX.

Reservations
Reservations are requested and appreciated for dining at the Club. In order to provide the best service possible to our Club members and their guests, we ask that you take the time to make reservations in advance of your arrival. For specific special events there will be a mandatory reservation policy in effect. On certain occasions, we will also request that any changes or cancellations to your reservation be made 48 hours prior to the event in order to accommodate any possible waiting list or to avoid any unnecessary charges to your account.

Please contact Member Services (517) 484-4567 to make arrangements. Your patience is appreciated during our busy season. Please leave a message if necessary.

48-Hour Cancellation Policy for Special Events
Cancellations for special events within 48 hours will be charged the full rate. These are events that require significant preparation for each guest expected, that have the potential to sell out, or that require a minimum number of guests in order to proceed. Members will be charged in full for each reservation on record as of 48 hours prior to the event, or the actual number served, whichever is greater. No-shows will also be charged per this policy.

Tipping
Tipping is optional. A service charge of 20% is automatically added to member dining and member events and a 21% service is added to banquet events. These service charges are put into a tip pool for the day and distributed to all staff working that day. It is up to your discretion to leave an additional tip that will go directly to your server.

We ask that our Club members and their guests dress in attire that is appropriate for the Country Club atmosphere. At times throughout the year, there will be specific dress codes established for designated Club events. This will be noted in the monthly newsletter or at the time you make your reservations.

Effective December of 2007, the Board amended our dress code to allow club appropriate denim as acceptable attire in the following areas:

  • Riverside Dining Room
  • Bar
  • Pro Shop

Appropriate denim does not include denim with holes, frayed material, denim shorts, work-type denim, bibs, painter pants or those that are extremely low cut.

Denim will not be considered acceptable in any areas other than those noted above, including the following areas:

  • Main Dining Room
  • Golf Course
  • Range

Members and their guests wearing denim should not enter the Club from the main lobby, but may use any other Club entrance. Management has been instructed to inform members when they are in violation of this policy and ask them to relocate to an approved area, or to change attire. Members are responsible for their guest’s attire.

Dress Code for the Golf Course and Practice Areas
Members and guests attire should exemplify the professionalism and honor of the game of golf. The Club has established the following dress code for the golf course and practice facility.
